El matrimonio y los niños traen con ellos unas responsabilidades obvias. Rafael tiene una pequeña farmacia en Guatemala, pero deseaba expandir su negocio para poder mantener mejor a su familia. Fue ahí cuando empezó su viaje, desde su ciudad, pasando por México, cruzando el Río Bravo, y llegando primero a Houston. Finalmente llegó a Nueva York, y piensa quedarse dos o tres años para juntar el dinero suficiente y regresar.
