La internacionalmente reconocida cantante boricua Ednita Nazario fue alguna vez tan sólo una niña de seis años observando un juego de pelota en la ciudad de Ponce. La suerte hizo que una pelota llegara directamente al guante que la pequeña Ednita sostenía entre sus manos. La multitud en el estado se volvió loca, entre la cual estaba un productor de música, quien quedó aún más impresionado cuando la pequeña niña le cantó una canción.

Luis López Nieves' short story "Seva" takes place during the 1898 US invasion of Puerto Rico, in the fictional town of the same name, Seva. The story, first published in the newspaper Claridad, and which many readers mistook for fact, has sparked a very real debate about culture, identity, history and truth amongst Puerto Ricans of all stripes. The documentary Seva Vive explores these themes.

This Puerto Rican band wasn’t on the island from the get-go. Two of La Secta’s members, Mark and Gustavo, met in Orlando during school and then moved to Miami Beach. There, they met up with John and Carlos and started writing songs. The message of their album Fuego, which shines through in “Déjalos que hablen,” is, according to John, “to be positive in the face of a moment of so many changes in the world.”
