These friendly and animated guys are hardworking chilangos. That’s how people from Mexico City are known around Mexico. Let’s share a bus ride with them and learn some slang about workers and working in and around Chilangolandia.

In Latin America people look for a calm, fresh place where they can enjoy el almuerzo del día, the special lunch of the day, or pedir de la carta, to order from the menu. It’s a perfect time for sitting back and taking a break from your work day.

Collecting, restoring and “souping up” Volkswagens is a passion shared by Latin Americans from Baja to Buenos Aires. They love the mechanics and the mechanical lingo. But what’s as clear as the Adicora sky, is that what keeps them united is not pipes and motors but friendship.

One nice morning we found these friendly guys running around Panama while training to participate in different US marathons. One of them is the manager of a professional soccer team. These friends are great proof of how exercise keeps us in good shape and great spirits throughout our lives.

Gonzalo is a Peruvian painter living in Germany. We had a great opportunity to visit him and talk about his life. Before learning about his work, let’s listen to the amazing tale of how he met his wife.

Our top reporter stops by Peru’s capital and catches a ride with Ulises, a taxi driver/tourist guide/cop with a thorough knowledge of the city and a great willingness to share it. Ulises takes us to the Rimac area of Lima. Rimac means que habla (“that could speak”) in Quechua, a telling name for this telling ride!

Meet Francisco Javier, a passionate apprentice at the Circo Infantil Americano, and learn that a circus is a serious business, where hard work is always required. But the long hours of rehearsal are rewarded with family-like treatment and access to one of the most magical places on earth.

We all know how magical a circus ring can be: crazy clowns, fearless acrobats, smart animals and all kind of colorful and dreamlike acts. But here, at the Circo Infantil de Nicaragua the real magic happens backstage, where we learn that a good show takes a lot of dedication, hard work and passion.

We were driving around the roads of rural Nicaragua when we caught a glimpse of this donkey driven cart with loads of milk. We had to get to know this guy! Here it is, a YABLA exclusive with a milk seller!!

Some people could see Arturo Vega as just a guy who happened to design the Ramones logo, but the truth is that he had to get his hands dirty with hard work, and that meant loading tons of equipment, manning the lights and basically doing whatever was needed by the band. The reward was great: thousands, maybe millions, wearing an image that he created.

In Bogotá’s flea market, children help out in their parents’ businesses. We stop at a stall of handcrafted wood figures and chat with the artisan’s daughter.
